I recently had the opportunity to read Off Balance, The American Way of Health by Dr Leyla Ali, PharmD. It explains how drugs really work. There are several interviews with people who have healed themselves from various health conditions including pain, toxicities, eating disorders, Tourette Syndrome, cancer and more. There are some unique viewpoints from practitioners also.
There a four main reasons why Dr Leyla Ali, PharmMD wrote this book.
  • The first reason is to let people know that doctors and drugs are currently the most accepted standard of healthcare in our society today. She wants to let people know that this only a part of the puzzle and there are other options available also.
  • Products that are being advertised are there to make money. This is not necessarily the best option for you.
  • Taking just a pill is not a cure. You have to learn more about yourself and take care of your body, mind and soul.
  • Our minds have been molded by drug companies and we need to become aware of other alternatives.
You should read this book if you would like the simple truth from the perspective of a pharmacist. This book will teach you how to understand the healthcare system. You will learn that there is more to health than prescription drugs. While showing you a new perspective from a pharmacist, you will find out alternative ways to help with some of the issues you may have been struggling with. Not everyone will have the same answer or cure for the same problem. Everyone’s body is different and should learn all the alternative methods that will work for you. This book is a great start to help you learn more.
