Well, it’s been two weeks now since I started my weight loss journey with Medifast Go! I’m excited to share some of my experiences from the past couple of weeks. To start, I’ve lost an amazing 7lbs so far. This is great considering my medical conditions, which I discussed in my introduction post. Even though losing weight is a big plus, I’m looking for something more and I feel this program is exactly what I’ve been needing. Just because you lose weight, it doesn’t mean that your body is healthy. This is my main goal and losing the extra weight, in addition, is great! Although, muscle weighs so you can’t really count on weight sometimes. I love that Medifast can offer a healthy way to lose weight without starving yourself!
I received a Medifast Food Journal which has been very beneficial to me. With the Medifast Go! program, I eat six times a day and I have to space apart my meals every 2 to 3 hours. I’ve caught myself forgetting when I last ate so the Food Journal helps me keep track of not only when I ate but also what I’ve eaten. I can simply mark off each meal as I go along including my snacks, condiments, and water intake.
Every day I have 5 Medifast Meals and 1 Lean and Green Meal. I’m not used to eating so many times a day. That’s usually because I gorge on one meal for the day and snack lightly later. I know that’s not good for my body and I’ve been able to break that cycle thanks to this program. I’m able to eat one of the portioned-controlled meals and allow the needed time for it to digest, which leaves me feeling full without overeating. Each portion-controlled meal has a low glycemic index, low in fat, and about 100 calories per serving. It’s also fortified with 24+ vitamins and minerals and provides quality protein for a daily 800-1,000 calories.
Cravings?! Yes, I still have cravings but the Medifast Meals are able to satisfy those cravings with their large variety of meals available. Honestly, I can’t live without cheese. In fact, macaroni-and-cheese is one of my favorite foods to eat. I was stoked to find out that Medifast offers a macaroni-and-cheese as a meal. It’s not like my homemade of course, but it works perfectly fine to satisfy the cravings. Especially since it’s already in a portioned-controlled size so I won’t overeat. It literally takes just a couple of minutes to prepare so it’s great when you need a quick and easy meal.
The Sour Cream and Chives Mashed Potatoes are just as easy to make and it tastes good too. It only takes a couple of minutes to prepare. Sometimes I like to eat the mashed potatoes with a few grilled chicken strips. Medifast also has a Garlic Mashed Potato which is good too. These potatoes are fortified with 26 vitamins and minerals, has 11 grams of protein, 4 grams of fiber, just 0.5 grams of fat, and 100 calories.
Another good meal option is the Ziti Marinara. This helps with the Italian and pasta cravings. It only takes 5-1/2 minutes to cook. It’s a great meal to take to work and have on a cold winter day.
One of my favorite Lean and Green Meals that Medifast offers is the Chicken Cacciatore. It’s made with chicken, mushrooms, bell peppers, and noodles in a tangy, tomato-based sauce. I’m one that doesn’t like mushrooms and bell peppers but it was hardly noticeable. I truly enjoy all the flavors that this meal has to offer. The meal is only 300 calories, 26 grams of protein, and 15 grams of fat.
You wouldn’t want to go through the day without having dessert right?! One of my favorite Medifast desserts is the Chocolate Chip Soft Bake. It definitely satisfies my sweet tooth. If you’re in a hurry to get that sweet, you can easily prepare it in the microwave in less than 2 minutes. Or, you can bake it in the oven and it takes around 12 minutes to cook. Of course, I haven’t been so patient so I cook mine in the microwave. It comes out like a chocolate chip cookie brownie. You can add slightly more water to make it softer or less water for a crunchier taste. These tasty, low-cal cookies have 11 grams of protein and just 2 grams of fat.
My absolute favorite food from Medifast so far is the popcorn and crisps. I could eat the Cheddar and Sour Cream Popcorn all day long. I might just even say it’s better than original movie theater popcorn! This optional snack is only 70 calories and 4.5 grams of fat. My favorite crisps are the Parmesan and Olive Oil Crisps. These bite-sized crisps have a zesty Parmesan cheese flavor and are lightly brushed with olive oil. This optional snack is only 70 calories and 2 grams of fat with 7 grams of protein. Both of these snacks are great for on-the-go. They are convenient to throw in your bag when you’re in a hurry.
These are just a few of my personal favorites from Medifast. There’s over 60 different meals and snacks to choose from. They also offer Shakes and Smoothies. I’ve been addicted to Dr Pepper my entire life. I couldn’t start nor end my day without a Rt44 fountain Dr Pepper. I was drinking at least three a day a few years ago. I was able to go down to no more than two a day. Since I started the Medifast Go! program, I haven’t had a single fountain Dr Pepper. However, I did have to wean myself off the soda so I began to drink no more than two Dr Pepper TEN’s a day. I absolutely love the Essential1 Calorie Burn Mixed Berry Flavor Infuser. The flavoring comes in individual stick packets so it’s easy to have everywhere you go. You simply add the flavoring to your water and shake to mix. Each serving gives you 100 mg of caffeine and 90 mg of EGCG to enhance fat burning and decrease appetite. It’s a great way to start off your day or for a little boost in the middle of the day. Medifast offers seven different Flavor Infusers for Energy, Antioxidants, or Calorie Burn.

So far I’m loving the Medifast Go! program. The different meals, snacks, and drinks are keeping me satisfied. I no longer feel so bloated like before. I’m even fitting into my clothes better! I’m not down any sizes yet but I can tell my clothes aren’t near as tight so they feel more comfortable on. I feel the most difference in my thighs. I’m beginning to feel the benefits of eating portion-controlled meals throughout the day. I’m not having to starve myself which is great so I won’t feel the need to get off track and go on a binge. I love having all of my meals handy and I can prepare them in no time. If I make my own Lean and Green meal, I already have in mind how to portion-control so it’s also quick and easy. Eating healthy doesn’t have to involve a 30+ minute prepped meal. It couldn’t be any easier for me! I’ve had the willpower for the past two weeks and I hope to continue that way. It’s hard seeing my husband and friends eat foods that I would love to have but I’m determined I can do this and I will! I’m already loving the way that I feel after the first two weeks so I can only imagine after another month of determination. Stay tuned as I will be posting another update in a couple of weeks!
